Pastor Chandy Varghese

Pastor Chandy Varghese, born on May 2, 1964, in Thiruvalla, Kerala, grew up with a life shaped by resilience, challenges, and God’s calling. Losing his father at the tender age of 9, he spent his childhood longing for father’s love. During this time, he also battled undiagnosed health issues that no medical intervention could resolve. In desperation, his mother dedicated him to ministry, unbeknown to him—a decision that planted the seeds for his future calling.
In 1987, Pastor Chandy moved to Delhi with aspirations of joining the Indian Army but was unable to qualify. He eventually took up a clerical job in a private firm. On December 26, 1991, he married Sis. Jessy, a devoted woman of faith who has been his unwavering support and a strong pillar in his ministry.
Their lives took a turnaround in 1997 when they attended a house meeting where the Holy Spirit moved mightily. It was during this encounter that Pastor Chandy and Sis. Jessy received the Holy Spirit. This profound experience became the defining moment of their lives, as Pastor Chandy began to encounter the Father heart of God and receive the love he had sought for years.
Following this, Pastor Chandy had an encounter in dream in which Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran imparted an anointing over him. After this encounter, Pastor Chandy began to operate more deeply in the Father heart of God, which became the cornerstone of his ministry. He also had another life-changing encounter with the Lord Jesus, where Jesus said to him, "I am humble, so you should be humble too." These experiences shaped his ministry, which is marked by humility, love, and a deep passion for reaching the lost and the broken.
His compassion for the perishing became evident when he began visiting hospitals to pray for ailing patients and reaching out to those rejected by society. In 2001, he met a woman ostracized due to AIDS, abandoned by her family. He prayed for her healing and started a fellowship exclusively for her, as she had no place to worship. The woman later experienced complete healing, accepted Christ, and was water baptized. This small fellowship eventually became the foundation of Zion Global Worship Centre.
In November 2002, during a time of prayer in his secret place, Pastor Chandy received a word from the Lord about a great revival in India and was called to lead the church in fervent intercession for it. Acting in obedience, he organized 21-day fasting prayers with pastors in Delhi over two years, paving the way for the establishment of Zion Global Worship Centre on April 4, 2004. Initially, services were held in the basement of a hotel in Karol Bagh. By October 2004, the church relocated to Patel Nagar under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, where it grew rapidly.
Pastor Chandy’s ministry is marked by miracles, healings, and the mighty presence of God. The Lord has placed an apostolic mantle upon him to equip the body of Christ, raise leaders, and spread the fire of revival across India and the nations. His vision is to see lives transformed by the gospel, with people becoming true worshippers in spirit and truth.
Pastor Chandy and Sis. Jessy are blessed with three children: Sheenu, a worship leader married to Daniel Shibu Mathai, Sherin and Rufus. Together, their family stands as a testimony of God’s faithfulness, serving as a source of strength and inspiration to the Zion Global Worship Centre and beyond.
